Position Summary

SVN is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead the coordination, delivery, and evolution of its Peer Circle program while launching and managing two new member engagement formats: affinity groups (industry-focused conversation groups) and in person regional meetups.

This role is central to maintaining high-quality member experience, strengthening peer-to-peer connection, and supporting the growth of SVN’s community in a scalable, lightweight way.

The Program Coordinator works closely with the SVN team, group conveners, and members to ensure programs are well-run, relevant, and responsive to member needs.

Scope of Work

1. Peer Circle Program Management

  • Coordinate existing Peer Circles across multiple cohorts

  • Support group conveners  with scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing communication

  • Thoughtfully match and place Peer Circles applicants into Peer Circles.

  • Orient and onboard new cohorts into the program - assisting newly formed Peer Circles in establishing how to convene their group (attendance and commitments).

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Peer Circle participants

  • Collect feedback and surface insights to improve program quality

  • Support onboarding of new Peer Circle members as needed

2. Affinity Groups (Industry-Focused Conversation Groups) 

  • Launch and coordinate industry-specific group conversations (e.g. climate, finance, social enterprise, tech, etc.)

  • Work with SVN staff to identify priority industries and pilot formats

  • Schedule and support regular virtual sessions

  • Manage communications, sign-ups, and follow-up

  • Help refine the format based on participation and feedback

3. Geographic Regional Meetups (New Program)

  • Coordinate regional or city-based member meetups

  • Support volunteer hosts or local champions

  • Assist with scheduling, promotion, and light logistics

  • Ensure consistency with SVN values and community guidelines

  • Track participation and engagement across regions

4. Community Engagement & Coordination

  • Maintain clear, friendly communication with members and group convener.

  • Help ensure programs feel welcoming, inclusive, and well-organized

  • Flag trends, opportunities, and challenges to the SVN team

  • Support light reporting on participation and engagement metrics

Expected Outcomes

  • Peer Circles run smoothly with high participant satisfaction

  • Two new engagement formats launched and stabilized

  • Clear systems for scheduling, communication, and feedback

  • Improved member connection and retention through structured programming

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills

  • Experience supporting community programs, leadership cohorts, or facilitated groups

  • Comfortable working remotely and connecting with our team remotely

  • Excellent written communication and follow-up habits

  • Ability to manage multiple parallel programs with organized systems

  • Familiarity with member-based or values-driven organizations is an asset

Compensation & Contract Terms

  • Hours: Part-time, ~10-12 hours/week

  • Compensation: $29–$32/hour commensurate with experience

  • Location: Remote (North America preferred)

  • Contract Type: Independent contractor (1099), initial contract period is 6 months with strong potential for renewal as SVN membership grows
